Summary of Experience
Mr. Van Niel consults on matters involving complex quantitative analyses – primarily in the health care sector – to help address litigation, strategy, and policy questions. He has extensive experience applying sophisticated economic modeling tools and techniques to pharmacy, wholesaler, and manufacturer transaction-level databases, as well as to chargeback data and insurance claims. Mr. Van Niel has also managed large, cross-discipline case teams and supported academic experts in developing forecasting models, as well as in analyzing sales and supply chain practices in complex prescription drug-related litigation matters.
Mr. Van Niel has worked with manufacturers, distributors, and pharmacy chains to develop suspicious order monitoring (SOM) tools, loss prevention algorithms, and supplemental ordering- and dispensing-level analytics. He has presented analytical results to corporate executives and government officials, including those at the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), United States Attorneys’ Offices, and state attorneys general offices.
